How Can Your Dentist Help You With Your Oral Health Problems?

Whether your teeth are misaligned, cracked, chipped, or missing, the structure of your teeth matter.   Each tooth is designed to perform its own functions and hence it is very important to correct any problems.  Your dentist can help solve several oral problems and a few of them are listed below.

Teeth Whitening – Teeth whitening is a popular method to brighten your teeth. Teeth whitening can be accomplished either at home through over-the-counter products or in the dentist's chair. Zoom teeth whitening is one technique that is performed in a dental office. It is recommended that you check with your dentist if you are eligible for whitening.

Composite Bonding – This dental treatment can treat a broken or chipped tooth and restore the form and function. A tooth-colored composite resin is bonded to your teeth to give it a natural look.

Dental Veneers – Dental veneers are, thin wafer-like shells of tooth-colored porcelain material designed as a substitute for your tooth enamel to hide various dental imperfections. It is used to cover stained, cracked, chipped or broken teeth.

Dental Crowns – Dental crowns (also known as caps) are used when you have a damaged or decayed tooth. It may also be recommended after a  root canal treatment where it is placed over your damaged tooth.   It helps restores you’re the shape and function of a tooth and protect the underlying toot as well.

Dental Bridges – Your dentist may recommend you dental bridges if you are missing one or more teeth. Your missing tooth can be replaced with dental bridges that are attached to the natural teeth with the support of the adjacent teeth.

Dental Implants – Dental implant treatment replaces the root portion of the missing teeth. A bio-compatible titanium post is surgically inserted into the jawbone that allows the dentist to mount an artificial tooth over the implant. This replaces a missing tooth.

Invisalign – Invisalign clear aligners are custom-made from clear plastic that snugly fits over your teeth. They are relatively invisible and can be briefly removed while eating and drinking.

Your oral health is important and you shouldn't take it lightly. If you face any problem, major or small, make sure to schedule an appointment with your dentist to determine the issue and fix it before it gets worse.
