Here Are 4 Wrong Ways You Use A Foam Roller

Everything that is made for a certain purpose is created so that it can produce or achieve that same purpose; if it is advantageous as it is but not utilized properly, it will not be able to do its best and function at its best.

A foam roller is an essential exercise equipment. Aside from the fact that it is a lightweight object, it also has many benefits when it comes to improving your mobility, your blood flow and your range of motion and lessening your risk of getting injured and physically sick. Using it wrongly, however, can make things worse instead of giving you the right fitness routine.

You might be informed about tips and techniques in using a foam roller, but do you know the wrong ways in using them as well? Here are 4 of them:

Usually, you might think that directly massaging the part of your body where you feel pain is the key, however, it is not. Before directly doing something about that hurt part, begin with an area near it. Some people think that it’s the satisfaction that matters or that enduring the pain will eventually let it go away, but it just actually triggers more inflammation.

Rolling slowly is the way to do it. If it’s too fast, adaptation and adjustment to the compression are hindered. Removing adhesions is harder and possibly impossible.

Soreness might result from a lot of sustained pressure placed on the painful area where you’re using the foam roller for. That would be even more painful and might result to greater damage.

Specific body parts where foam rollers are commonly used might be sensitive such as the neck. Consult your doctor first before concluding that foam rolling is the answer for your painful body problems.

Using a foam roller enables you to develop better body positions and postures. You are required to hold yourself in different positions which demand you of endurance and strength. Improper positions and postures during the exercise might worsen posture problems and cause even more serious injuries.

It is important that you know the proper ways of using a foam roller, and at the same time, it is beneficial to know the wrong ways too. In that way, you’ll be able to avoid movements and others routines that will lead to harm when using a foam roller. Exercise right, exercise safely!
